Essie Mae Williams Doyle, 94, of Roanoke Rapids, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014.

Essie, a native of Greensville County, Virginia was the daughter of the late Carsey Clifton Williams, Sr., and Maggie Harrell Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Peter Doyle; two sons, William Thomas and Cecil Eugene Doyle; three sisters, Lovie Harrell, Irene Newsome, Irma Fowler; and a brother, Carsey Clifton Williams, Jr.

Essie was retired from J.P. Stevens with 40 years of service.

She is survived by her son, Melvin Doyle and his wife, Mary Francis ''Murphy'' Doyle of Roanoke Rapids; four grandsons, Ashley Doyle and his wife, Rachel, of Wilson, Peter Doyle and his wife, Genevieve, of Atlanta, Paul Doyle of Fort Hood, Oregon, and John Doyle of Roanoke Rapids; and great grandson, Ezra Doyle.

Graveside services will be held Friday, April 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the old section of Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids with Peter Doyle and Rev. Maurice Wheat officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
